Design Philosophy: “Most of my designs are conceptualized in my head before I start work, I like Sketching randomly and freely to develop a form. During my sketching phase is where I take a decision of dimensions in the sculpture or mural.” Most of the installations are site specific, designed as per the site.

Lovers
The installation titled “Lovers”, has been installed in New Delhi. The work has been carved out of a single piece of marble, which took the artist 2months to source. The sculpture has taken more than 8 months and weighs approximately 5 tons. The design is a part of the artist’s personality. “I always make my initial designs from clay, create a form and hold it against the sky, this way I can imagine it in any size and always be in control.”
While creating any large sculpture I always feel that my audience must think ,“creating something like this is nearly impossible.” Sculptures look the best in open air especially in landscape. My subject is my emotion, and I believe that paintings are more poetic and sculptures more realistic and logical, to evoke emotions in an audience through sculptures is the most difficult thing to do. All my recent projects have been large and required me working with new medium. My studio is more like a laboratory than manufacturing. All my sculptures in recent times weigh over a ton minimum.
Modonna and Child
“Mothers love is peace for her child, and her children are her anchor for life”
All my sculptures are an extended part of me, sculptures as I have always said is the artof intelligence. As an artist I believe to create your own life one has to carve it like a sculpture. For me a sculpture occupies real space as we do, you can walk around it, feel and touch it I often relate to it as another person. My sculptures are very personal, for years my subjects have been my emotions and thought. I express all my emotions through my sculpture since am I not a poet, as much as I would want to be. To start I take a relief, draw it and carve it out after which I build it up from a flat surface. Mostly its addition and subtraction till the end.
The sculpture “Madonna and child” is carved out of a single piece of marble and weighs 7 Tons. The rock often guides me to the final sculpture, the process is long and the work and ideas keep changing along the way. Every sculpture must have significance and does not belong in everyday life like a table and chair. The space must demand it and the sculpture should be a part of the surrounding rather than dominate it. My sculpture for instance was first thought of by me a few years back but I never started doing it till I found a suitable space for it. The subject of “Madonna and child” is a representation of Mother and child it is a subject which has been popular throughout the ages some of the artists who have painted and sculpted this subject are Raphael, Michelangelo, Giotto, Filippo Lippi just to name a few. So, in other words how to respond to a sculpture and how a viewer sees a sculpture is vital. As an artist I try to bring forth the playful emotion between the mother and child with my sculpture however to express emotion through a material or object that really is emotionless was a real challenge. This sculpture has taken me over 3 months to finish.
Flight of Freedom
The vision during the design phase were doves or pigeons flying upwards in a flock. The white doves/pigeons are synonymous with freedom, joy and peace. Freedom in all aspects —spiritual and otherwise. This sculpture is a visual treat for the residents of the building and the colour white is very soothing to the eye.
This is basically a non-representational sculpture, designed specifically keeping freedom and an upward motion in mind, like white pigeons flying vertically up in a flock. The design is inspired by what we see in nature and is the starting point of a somewhat creative play, which bears some resemblance to my thought of freedom.
Mother and Child
Every sculptor and mural artist works with a concentration of his whole personality, and the conscious part of it resolves conflicts, organized memories, and prevents him from trying to walk in two directions at the same time. As an artist and as a mother this concept of ‘Mother and Child’ comes very naturally to me. As a sculptor I am only interested in the shape of things.
Tree of Life
The tree of life, is a marble installation weighing 5 tons and standing 7 feet tall. It was designed with symbols that reminds us of the love and grace God gives to each of us. It has been said trees are the earth's effort to speak to heaven. As a tree's branches give shade and protection from the sun, God always gives us love and protection. Knowing that we are loved and not alone can give us the strength to do things we did not know we were capable of doing. The installation symbolises wisdom, growth, protection, strength and God’s grace. The tree of life sculpture has been copyrighted by the artist. This installation has taken over 4 months to create.
“With care and nurturing, a tree will continue the growth of new life for many generations” a concept the artist followed while creating and designing this installation. As Rouble always designs artwork that are site/space specific, this particular installation was made for a client’s outdoor garden. The marble has been intricately carved from a single piece to create a tree with symbols and designs that show a vertical growth. Rouble has created more than 4 different designs with the same title, all having different themes and meaning. The “Tree of life” is a series of installations the artist has designed in various mediums like marble, mosaic, metal and ceramic just to name a few.
